Here at Broken Arrow Outdoors Adventures we are working on getting Veterans, Active-Duty, First Responders, Health Care Workers, and Kids out on the water or out into the woods doing outdoor activities with other people who have been in their situation, whether they are suffering from PTSD, mental health issues, job stress, or loss of the comradery, family member, or friend. We are here to help them find peace and help them through their struggle, doing this in an environment where they are not judged and can feel safe to open up.

We also focus on the kids of the fallen, and Kids who suffer from PTSD from the loss of a parent to spending time in Foster Care. We help them through the struggles they face after losing a parent to combat, being placed in foster care, struggling with health issues, and especially suicide. These are very real and can be a traumatizing experience that are most of the time overlooked with these kids. They have lost one of their biggest supporters in life and need a place where they can focus, regroup, and find peace.

As you know every day 22 or more veterans take their own lives. This is not just happening with veterans. On average, 130 people commit suicide each day. (afsb.org\suicide-statistics) We are losing Fathers, Mothers, Brothers, Sisters, Son, Daughters, and Friends. There seems to be no end in sight with this issue progressively getting worse each year. We must come together and come up with more programs such as ours to help end this mental health crisis. Everyday service men and women separate from the military with nowhere to go and no idea or plan of what they will do for work. They feel as if they have no direction and no use outside of the military. They feel as if they have done things in combat so incomprehensible that they don't belong in our society or the things that have happened to them like rape or abuse have damaged them to the point that all they know is the darkness of their own hell. Once again, this is not just happening to veterans. Its affects are seen with active duty and first responders dealing with the high stress of their jobs. Everyday there are individuals who have lost hope in finding peace. They have taken to the streets, the only place they think they will ever feel safe again. They have turned to drugs and alcohol and more abusive relationships, and it must stop.

As a veteran with PTSD, I know the fight and the struggles, how hard it is to just get out of bed in the morning and face the day with what we have seen and what we have done in combat to stay alive, to feel like there is no one who knows or understands what we deal with, to know the feeling of not knowing what I am going to do, wondering is there any help??

Well, HERE is that help. HERE is that place. HERE is where you can get back on your feet. Broken Arrow is a veteran-owned organization and program to help get veterans, active duty, and first responders back on their feet, out of the darkness that they feel lost in, and back into the civilian life. A place where they can just kick back and clear their minds.

In the military, Broken Arrow is the call when a unit is under fire with a high chance of catastrophic loss or being completely wiped out. Broken Arrow is the call for any and all support to come to their aid. Well, we have experienced catastrophic loss of veterans, service men and women, and first responders by them taking their own lives and have seen the cost it can take on the families. We need to start more programs to reach out and try to help before it's too late. That's what we are trying to do here at Broken Arrow. That’s why I came up with the name Broken Arrow and that is what I am calling! I’m calling for support from anywhere and everywhere to get the help to get started to help these people.
